Rossborough Insurance Guernsey FA Cup draw made
Exciting matches are in store for Guernsey football fans after the draw for the first and second round of the Rossborough Insurance FA Cup was made.
Guernsey FA chairman Chris Schofield was joined by Ian Stewart, managing director of Rossborough Insurance Guernsey, in drawing the names of the teams at the association’s Corbet Field offices ahead of the first game later this month.
‘This is about supporting grassroots football and putting something back into the community. This is Guernsey’s premier football competition and it’s growing. This is the second year that we have sponsored the Guernsey FA Cup, and we’re looking forward to seeing some great matches just like last year,’ said Mr Stewart.
Chris Schofield, chairman of the Guernsey FA, said: ‘There are 26 teams, which is a good number. We should get more competitive games, which is something that the spectators will look forward to. As with last year, I think we will get a fair number of shocks. We’re also grateful for the sponsorship of Rossborough Insurance because such support is vital to us.’
