This is a cover which should be carefully considered by Employers who send employees abroad, and by Wealth Managers responsible for clients and their families.
Kidnapping and attempted Kidnapping is not just restricted to South America. Africa, the Caribbean, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and South East Asia are all areas where this type of crime is prevalent.
Whilst there are a number of Underwriters who provide this type of cover, arguably the most important part of any contract is the experience and expertise of the specialist negotiators and consultants who deal with any incident. Rossborough deliberately only deals with very few specialist providers in this area.
Cover can include:
- The Specialist Consultants and Negotiators fees
- The Ransom Fee
- Payment of the Victims Salary whilst in captivity
- Medical and Rehabilitation costs
- Consequential Loss of profit suffered by the Employers business e.g. the disruption to trading activities in a particular jurisdiction following an event
