Claim back any excess you have to pay

An excess is the amount you have to pay in the event you make a claim on your insurance policy. With excess protection insurance you can claim back any excess you have to pay.

How excess protection insurance works

If you have a £500 excess on, for example, your home insurance and you have a claim for £2,000, you are liable for the first £500 of the claim and the insurance company for the remaining £1,500. If you hold an excess protection insurance policy, it will reimburse you for the £500 excess charge. We offer excess protection as an optional add on to your home insurance policies.
