Last week, our team joined professionals from across the insurance and risk management community at the 2026 Airmic Guernsey Conference for a day of discussion, insight and valuable connections.
Jointly hosted by Guernsey Finance and Airmic, the conference was also sponsored by Artex, a Gallagher company and a leading provider of alternative risk management, reinsurance and insurance-linked securities solutions.
Centred on the theme “Resilience by design: navigating complexity in 2026 and beyond,” the conference explored the role of insurance in helping organisations navigate an increasingly complex and fast-changing risk environment.
Industry perspectives and key themes
The programme featured an impressive line-up of speakers from across business, insurance and risk management, sharing different perspectives on the challenges and opportunities facing organisations today.
A key focus throughout the day was the evolving role of captives as a strategic risk management tool, with discussions looking at how organisations are responding to geopolitical uncertainty, cyber risk, AI and climate change, and how to build greater resilience into their businesses.
A highlight of the day was the keynote session, which looked beyond our specific industry issues and business resilience to explore the importance of mindset; how individuals and organisations can develop the personal and an internal cultural of resilience – both of which are needed to respond positively to challenges and times of change.
