What to check before family arrive at Christmas
Having family stay over Christmas?
Over the years, we've learned about some familiar patterns with insurance claims in winter such as frozen pipes and storm damage. You can see our hints and tips here however over Christmas there is something a bit less obvious that happens frequently.
If you have family coming to stay and they're going to use a shower or bathroom that isn't used frequently, it's very wise to give it a test run in advance. This will let you check for and repair any degradation that may have happened since it was last used - and will prevent multiple claims we've seen in the past where the Christmas turkey became a bit more moist than anticipated.
Better to find the problem now on a small test than after a queue of hungry family members have used lots of water on Christmas morning.
